It wasn’t in the stars for launch day, but on June 29th, AT&T stores got their first shipments in and I made an attempt to acquire my iPhone 4. Arriving at the Ladera Ranch Store at 6:30 a.m., I was already 60 deep in line. It was understood by everyone in line that there would not be enough for everyone, however a second shipment was scheduled to arrive later in the afternoon. Our continued presence in line would secure us a voucher for an iPhone from that second shipment. Two hours later I had my voucher and at around 1 p.m. I had my iPhone. This is my first post with the new phone, and much like the 3Gs upgrade, my blog should enjoy a marked improvement in image quality with the 5 megapixel camera in iPhone 4.

Connected with iPhone 4
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010Launch Day – iPhone 4
Thursday, June 24th, 2010Today is Launch Day for the new iPhone 4. 3Gs is great, but for the price, I can’t pass up the upgrade. I went by Irvine Spectrum to survey the line situation and was blown away! Two lines wrapped around opposite sides of the building; one for preorders and one for regular purchases. One person I talked to said he had been in line for 11 hours and still had several hours of wait time ahead of him. I passed.
The situation over at Mission Viejo Mall was no better. Equally long lines snaked through the second floor of the mall.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Canon 7D
Friday, March 26th, 2010So, I’ve been using the Canon 7D DSLR for about a week now and I must say, this is an impressive piece of hardware. This camera has significant advantages over my previous 40D, but the real seller is the Full HD video capability. A whole new world has opened up for me with this feature and I’m anxious to explore it more. I created a new Vimeo account in preparation for future productions. Check out my stuff here… videos.SHANECLINE.com
‘GodMode’ in Windows 7
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010Looking for a way to manage all the settings for your Windows 7 machine in one place? Here is the answer. Create a folder and rename it to…
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
The folder icon will change and the name will simply read ‘GodMode’. Within this new folder are options to change virtually every setting of the operating system.
“Pei Wei” Digital Menu
Thursday, July 30th, 2009Pei Wei in Irvine is stepping up their game in the 21st century with a new digital menu array. I can personally verify that that the additional hardware expense has not compromised the quality of the cuisine.
Dell XPS 630
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009My new computer came in today. This thing is a beast! If this can’t run Adobe CS4 to its full potential, nothing can.
So, what are we looking at?
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad (12M, 3.0GHz, 1333FSB)
- Memory: 8GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz
The video cards are the most impressive part of this workstation… CrossFireX, Dual ATI Radion HD 4870′s with 1024MB of memory.
Holy Jim Trail with Trails App
Saturday, June 27th, 2009This weekend I experimented with a new app for iPhone. The Trails app tracks your hike progress with GPS to record location, distance, elevation, speed, etc. and then allows you to upload the recorded data to EveryTrail.com. The data was surprisingly acurate, however the app must remain open for the service to work. This gives the battery quite a workout. My 3 hour hike used about 40% of the charge.
iPhone 3GS
Friday, June 19th, 2009The new iPhone 3GS was released today. Since June 29, 2007, I’ve carried the same iPhone around and have miraculously managed to not loose it or break it. Therefore, it was with some reluctance that I decided to shut it down and make the switch to the newer, faster model. Blog posts from now on should display noticeably better picture quality, and once the iPhone WordPress App is upgraded, videos should stat making an appearance on here as well!
