Duckey

Lately I have been somewhat dissatisfied with my current Rubber Duckey supplier, but I think I may have found a new one. Through the miracle of science, they have succeeded in crossing a duck with Thriller!

The Habit

Friday, July 16th, 2010

On our way up to Hearst Castle this weekend, stopped for lunch in Thousand Oaks at a little place called The Habit Burger Grill. They openly admit that their cuisine is most comparable to In-n-Out, but better of course. After sampling the Charburger, I think I’d have to agree! Theirs is a little more mild and allows the flavor of the meat to take center stage. I’m told there’s another location in Manhattan Beach. Give it a try!

Kings Canyon National Park – First trip this summer

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I made it up to Cedar Grove this weekend for a quick little over night camping excursion. The weather was great and the park still carried it’s natural charm. This early in the season, the river was quite high with most section visible from the road having constant white water. A tree near the visitors center in Sentinel Camp Ground almost took out the bathrooms. Fortunately the fell wood mist it’s mark as these bathrooms are arguably the best ones in the valley.

Dodge Magnum Timing Belt Replacement

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

As part of the scheduled maintenance for Magnum, the timing belt had to be replaced. The Chrysler service department quoted me at $900. The belt itself was $150. After doing some research and acquiring a service manual, I was able to replace it in the garage. The crank pulley removal turned out to be the most challenging step; requiring a three-prong gear puller with a center punch. After that, it was just a matter of removing bolts, swapping the belt, and tightening everything back up.

100,000 Miles

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Today Magnum rolled over 100,000 miles! With that come a few maintenance items that need to be addresses, but overall, this thing is runnin’ like a champ!

Riding the Metrolink

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I’m no stranger to the city of Los Angeles, however I’ve never had the pleasure of commuting on the Metrolink; Los Angeles’ illustrious underground rail system. Sean is buying are tickets at the vending machine. What is this, New York?!
